Course Aim:
The aim of the White Belt course is to provide participants with an interactive, self-paced and engaging introduction to the fundamentals of Lean and Lean in Construction, and to enable construction personnel speak the same Lean language onsite and in the office.
Through practical examples and interactive learning, learners will build the knowledge and confidence to begin applying Lean thinking in the workplace.
Course Objectives:
- Understand the core principles of Lean and their application in construction
- Explain the concept of value and waste within a construction context
- Identify the 8 wastes and their effect on workflow, productivity and project performance
- Describe the role of 5S in creating a more organised, visual and efficient workplace
- Explain how PDCA supports structured problem solving and continuous improvement
- Develop an awareness of the Last Planner System as a collaborative approach to planning and control
